DIY Assembly

Construction & DIY Information

These sheds are designed to be DIY projects, however we also offer a full install service at fixed prices should you prefer someone else to do this for you. Typically a shed of this size would take one of the installers we use *one day*. See shed options for pricing.

The Finger Jointed Cedar Ferndale Timber Garden Shed is designed with a modular assembly system, making it a realistic project for someone with good DIY skills. Treated framing panels clad with cedar weatherboards are joined on site, with building paper already integrated to help manage moisture. Panels are typically joined using silicone and bolts, with beads siliconed and nailed into place. Roof sheets and flashings are then screwed to the shed, or a premade shingle roof is fitted, followed by hanging and aligning the door.

The optional floor kit includes precut runners and floorboards that can be nailed together with a hammer, simplifying the process of creating a dedicated timber floor. Overall, it is a satisfying one-day project for a competent DIYer.

DIY Difficulty Rating

  • Suitable for a competent DIYer; typically a full-day project and best tackled as a two-person job for handling panels safely.
